something else i learned today

charlotte allen in the washington post:

Depressing as it is, several of the supposed misogynist myths about female inferiority have been proven true.

all this time i've thought men & women were basically equal. now i know that it's been "proven true" that women are inferior! thanks for setting me straight, washington post!

Um...wow. Maybe they've cut back on their editorial staff? Replace all the sex references with race... and you'd have an self hating Uncle Tom type of rhetoric that would never pass the mustard over at the editor's desk.

Doesn't RM own the Post? Can't say I'm shocked.

murdoch's newscorp owns the new york post, not the washington post.

wapo is owned by the washington post company.

I started to read this earlier today thinking it was about the reporting on women supporters of Obama. I was so taken aback by this writer's unabashed attacks on Clinton (worst campaign ever, fulfilling all the worst female stereotypes...blah, blah) that truly made no sense. I literally stopped reading halfway through. While one can certainly critique both campaigns and the reasons why people (men or women) support a particular candidate, this article was simply bizarre in it's lack of logic, analysis or really even a point. You clearly don't like- Grey's Anatomy, women who bake for their animals (?), Hillary Clinton, botox, etc...this makes an article?

And if this weren't enough, more on the banning of the Vagina Monologues at Providence College. Another article in the Providence Journal. The Vagina Monologue author was in the Providence area to help promote her play as well as promote the right of women to not get raped.
